Matt was saying that drupal is good for &quot;one off&#039; sites.  The idea of having a development site, a staging site, and a production site is not something that drupal does well (in his opinion)... this forced him to test out things on a live site that he was most uncomfortable doing.  Additionally, being in a position to have to make changes to drupal&#039;s core programming prevented them from having a clear upgrade path.</description>
