My dad and Rene’s family came out from Orange County to celebrate Thanksgiving. Once the turkey and the stuffing was in the oven, Dad and I went out to pick up Taylor’s birthday cake. The decorator flaked out, so we waited in the parking lot at Tempe Marketplace and swigged egg nog straight from the bottle and talked. The meal was delicious, and the conversation and company was grand. Afterward, we played rummikub and flux. The evening was capped off with some of us relaxing around the television watching the documentary film “What Would Jesus Buy.” Perfect, really.
